Hiking in Bryce Canyon National Park

#1 Bryce Amphitheater

Bryce Amphitheater, often referred to as the park's crown jewel, is a stunning natural amphitheater that beckons visitors to witness the mesmerizing spectacle of hoodoos. These towering, orange, and red spire-like rock formations create an ethereal landscape that is a photographer's dream. Whether you're admiring it from the rim or hiking into the amphitheater, this sight will leave you in awe.

Bryce Canyon is famous for its unparalleled sunrise and sunset views. The Sunrise Point and Sunset Point provide the ideal vantage points to witness the play of light and shadows on the hoodoos as the sun graces the horizon. These moments are magical, so set your alarm and capture this natural beauty with your camera.

#3 Navajo Loop and Queens Garden Trail

To get up close and personal with the hoodoos, embark on the Navajo Loop and Queens Garden Trail. These trails meander through the heart of the amphitheater, allowing you to walk amidst these geological wonders. Keep an eye out for Thor's Hammer, a famous hoodoo that will leave you marveling at the forces of erosion. This was our favorite hike while visiting!

Drive along the Bryce Canyon Scenic Drive for a more relaxed but equally captivating experience. This 18-mile route leads you to numerous viewpoints, each offering a different perspective of the park's breathtaking features. Before starting your adventure, visit the Bryce Canyon Visitor Center. Here, you can gather information, get maps, and learn about the park's geology and history. Don't forget to speak with the park rangers to gain valuable insights and tips for your visit.

#6 Stargazing at Bryce

Bryce Canyon is one of the darkest places in North America, so it is known for its pristine dark skies, making it an excellent destination for stargazing. Join one of the park's astronomy programs or attend a ranger-led talk to gaze upon the Milky Way and constellations in all their glory. We also took a stargazing telescope tour nearby, which we enjoyed!

#7 Agua Canyon

Agua Canyon, with its natural bridge and panoramic viewpoint, offers another perspective of Bryce Canyon's wonders. Take a moment to savor this secluded spot and capture some incredible photos.

#8 Fairyland Point

Less frequented than some other areas, Fairyland Point provides an exclusive opportunity to marvel at Bryce Canyon's intricate rock formations in a quieter, more solitary setting.

#9 BONUS: ATV Tour

While we were in the area, we also took an ATV tour right outside the park, which was one of the highlights of the entire trip. We had a blast getting some speed on the ATVs, enjoying natural spring water, and seeing a ton of wildlife, including some adorable prairie dogs.
